Hands on learning
“Students are more engaged and focused when they’re working on hands-on projects—even those who fidget during large-group lessons.”
Focus on Sight Words
What are sight words? Sight words (high-frequency words, core words or even popcorn words) are the words that are used most often in reading and writing.
Motor Skill Development
It makes sense that the ability to move affects how children see, think about and talk about their physical and social environments. Cognitive development is more closely related to the development of gross motor skills.

Primary Phonics successfully stands the test of time, for one reason; it works. Each student can work at his own pace with ample opportunities for reinforcement. Our preschoolers develop a systematic series of decoding skills which lead to early reading.
The Bilingual Education has our students learning in two languages, English and Spanish, throughout the day. Learning a second language has been shown to enhance children’s cognitive development. Thirty minutes of each full day are spent with a dedicated Spanish teacher in the language classroom.
Through play and having fun, the children are practicing important social skills, stimulating brain development, increasing gross and fine motor coordination and improving eye-hand coordination.

I attended this school years back and have nothing but great things to say about it! All of the teachers I had were amazing and truly cared about each and every student. The class sizes are small, which further assist the one-on-one learning environment and I became very close with my classmates. The quality of education is top-notch, with teachers always encourage creativity and learning outside of the classroom walls as well. Overall, I’m incredibly grateful of my time at BCDS and look back on it with very fond memories.
“Bonita Country Day is a fabulous school. The academic programs are well taught by the teachers in the classes to the children. The facility is always kept clean and the staff and the teachers are all wonderful. They also provide the students with music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities . However, the most important attribute is that the principal, staff and teachers are all attentive to the parents concerns in regards to the needs of their children. And this one of the many qualities that Bonita Country Day provides and I as a parent highly recommend this school.”
“My daughter has been attending Bonita Country Day for a little over year now. We tried the school out summer of 2015 and we immediately fell in love with the school and enrolled her for the school year. I cannot begin to say enough good things about the school. My daughter has developed a love of learning and has exceeded the expectations I had for her in kindergarten. Mid-year she was reading chapter books like champ.
